Laboratory and Field Trials

Laboratory and Field Trials

We will always go the extra mile to keep horse and owner happy. When designing a highly protective range of boots it is important they are tested to the maximum by the most sophisticated technology and also used as they would be daily on a busy competition yard. This gives results on both a technical and 'real world' level and if necessary the boot and/or materials can be adjusted as part of the stringent testing and development process.

Laboratory Tests

Laboratory tests are important because they test the product to its limit in a safe, controlled environment. A number of tests are done on each boot, demonstrating and confirming its strengths and weaknesses before it is put onto the market. If the variable being tested is a weakness it will be re-designed to ensure that the end product is ideal for its particular purpose. When the aspect being tested is well designed and working as intended it can be compared with similar boots already on the market, by putting all boots through the identical test. These clinical tests give scientific evidence to validate the engineering of the product and how it works. These tests are described in more detail on our Equilibrium Products website.

Field Tests

The design for all Tri-Zone boots must be of durable quality so it is important these boots are tested to the extreme in the conditions they were designed for. We send our boots to various event yards where they are used on several horses a day undergoing a wide variety of work. This really puts the boots through their paces, and provides invaluable information to fine tune them. Typically, small improvements emerge from field tests, which would never be considered in th lab. An example is the easy-grip tab added to many of the boots' closure systems. It is this attention to every detail which add to the boots' individuality and high quality design.
