Tri-Zone Senior Newcomers competition format

The BSJA Senior Newcomers competition is for horses not to have won a total of £500.

First rounds are held at many shows across the country. Horses qualify by having jumped a clear round, followed by a clear round in the jump-off, in at least four First Round competitions.

Horses that achieve this between 1st June 2008 and 31st May 2009 will be eligible for the Second Round competitions, of which there are about 10. The first two horses, disregarding those already qualified, qualify directly for the Horse of The Year Show final.

The first five, disregarding those already qualified, are eligible for a 'last chance' qualifier at the BSJA/Scope Festival, where there are two qualifying tickets available.

The final at the Horse of The Year Show is one of the classes riders most want to win.
